iPod 5th Gen
The iPod 5th generation, more commonly known as the iPod Video is a massive update to the iPod range of MP3 players from Apple. This version of the famous iPod range, as the name suggests, can play videos but that is not all it can do.
The new iPod can also play games like bejeweled and other simple fun games that can pass time as you ride the train to school or work or what ever else. This new feature also has a downfall; the loading time for some videos can be fairly long to endure and the small screen of the iPod is not the best one to watch a movie on if you want to get all the minor details.
Because of the new video feature on the new iPod Video, the battery life has been shortened by a lot and this is something that you must be aware of if you wish to purchase one, because you do not want to be watching a good movie and have it cuts out as the end is showing. The standard iPod Video also does not come with any dock, AV cables and some of the other small external devices that come standard with other iPods. On a final con of this device, there is a chance that movies downloaded from other file sharing websites (that is not iTunes) and then converted using third party software to convert it into a playable file on the iPod, there is a chance the file may not work.
In conclusion, if you are looking to buy a MPG player that can also play videos it is best to shop around for one with a longer battery life, a larger screen and better bass quality. Out of ten, I give the iPod Video a seven.
